Offene Druckwerkstatt - Etching/intaglio
Every second Tuesday, join us in the Print studio for an open session of Etching/Intaglio. This is an opportunity to work on your own projects, develop new approaches and experiment with Intaglio techniques.
You are required to have knowledge and experience with etching techniques (line and aquatint) and basic drawing skills.

For those with no experience, I offer a taste in DRY-POINT engraving on Pvc.
Drypoint is a printmaking process in which a design is drawn on a plate with a sharp, pointed needle-like instrument. This is an opportunity to experience printmaking, acquire some experience and get a taste of what Etching is about:-)

All materials are provided by the workshop (tools, acids, solvents and inks) including Zinc/Copper/PVC plate (one each participant/ size A5) and printing paper (one for each participant/ size 70x100cm).
For larger and/or elaborated projects, please bring the necessary materials (such as larger zinc plates, special paper, etc.) and contact the workshop instructor in advance so we can prepare to assist you in the best possible way.

Please bring drawing utensils, sketches/drafts or anything that is needed for your personal project as well as clothes that you can dirty and/or an apron.

!!!This is not an etching course!!! Etching involves the use of a press, mordants, acids, solvent and other chemical materials - this should not be taken lightly —>> If a participant needs more assistance and shows signs of lack of knowledge or inexperience, for the safety of the participant and the workshop, the instructor is entitled to require from the participant to attend a course before joining the Open Workshop again. To sign up for a course, follow this link.
